Aunt Marie and Uncle Pete
For the last few years, Holly’s Aunt Marie and Uncle Pete take us for a week’s break to Dorset. We stay in sweet holiday cottages and spend our days at the beaches along the Jurassic coast.
This year, Holly spent the last night of our holiday in hospital as Jack (her son) broke his arm jumping off a swing at its highest point. It was pretty epic how high in the air he was!
It was a stressful time...for little Jack and Holly. However, for Aunt Marie, Uncle Pete, Arty (my little dog) and I, it was a surprisingly chilled experience and one of my fondest memories of the trip.
On the morning we were supposed to leave Dorset, the owner of the cottage gave us the key to her beach hut so we can wait whilst Jack was in surgery. It was so peaceful being enclosed, whilst at the same time we were right on the seaside, listening to the waves, people watching and eating from the yummy cafe that was conveniently just above the huts.
This was my view as I chilled on a lounger, drinking tea and drawing.
